The Italian American Club of Boise is not only a vehicle for social gatherings, but also a strong group of concerned individuals who believe in giving back to our community by monetary contributions, service, donations of time and abilities to organizations which are working to make this great city (and surrounding cities) a little nicer to live in.

If you have a community service project you would like to present to the Italian American Club of Boise for consideration or involvement, please contact our Community Service Chairman Sam Palumbo.

Some of the organizations and events we have been involved in are below...

Left to Right:
Detective Angie Bevier, Vice President of SAFE, Inc., Erin Jones, assistant to Detective Bevier and treasurer of SAFE, Inc., IAC Club members Sam & Grace Palumbo and Marie March

December 15, 2004, the club presented $250 to Security After Frightening Events (SAFE, Inc.).  Their mission is to assist domestic violence victims in need of immediate services for their safety.  Some examples of SAFE,Inc. services are:

  •             Providing a safe place to stay for the victim and children
  •             Purchasing a telephone for the victim
  •             Purchasing a bus ticket or gas money for the victim to leave the area
  •             Assisting with necessary utility bills
They also provide education to the community on domestic violence and cooperate with other organizations in assisting victims.

There funds are utilized only in immediate need situations when other resources are unavailable.

The Domestic Violence Unit of the Boise Police Department established the fund because they saw the need and wanted to do something to offer assistance to domestic violence victims that were unable to receive help immediately from normal channels.
